Academic Office
I grew up in Sudan, in our lovely city of Bahri, where my heart still resides. I graduated from Omdurman Islamic University, Batch 18. Soon after, I moved to the United Arab Emirates. After working in general practice in Abu Dhabi for five years, I grew my interest more in the speciality, and I joined the GP training programme in the UK in 2021. During my training, I worked at Greystoke Surgery in Morpeth, and I returned to work in the practice as a qualified GP. I enjoy all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in women’s health and child health. I’m interested in medical education, and I was involved in teaching medical students during my training and now as a qualified GP. I also had the opportunity to do the medical education certificate at Newcastle University.
Outside of work and family life, I’m passionate about reading, especially Arabic and Sudanese poetry, and I’m a poet writer myself—just a very beginning and junior one (and only if I get the right moment for it). I also enjoy spending time in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
I hope to be a useful addition to our lovely SBCA organisation.
